There are numerous restaurants and bars in Corpus Christi, but there’s only one Tapology. It is an eclectic mix of dive bar-esque accommodations and craft beer oasis. Don’t be fooled by the lack of curb appeal when you pull up, it looks rough on the outside, but inside is home to a great bar. With shuffleboard, coin-operated pool and plenty of TVs showing sports, it is a good place to spend an evening and enjoy some great beers.
The staff was friendly and helpful. They were glad to share their beer knowledge, changed the TV to playoff basketball when asked and were very pleasant. I’d gladly return next time I’m in the area.
Brews on tap during my visit included Stone Delicious IPA, Lagunitas IPA, Dogfish Head Aprihop, Firestone Velvet Merlin as well as a couple of taps dedicated to local brewer Lazy Beach Brewing. With 40 taps to choose from, there are plenty of great options. Tapology also featured a decent bottle selection that at the time included St. Arnold’s Bishop Barrel #9 which is one of my personal favorites.
There’s no doubt that if you are a beer lover in Corpus Christi, Tapology should be on your shortlist of places to visit.
P.S. Tapology was formerly known as Jack Ash’s if you have trouble locating it.
